WHY CONTRACTOR INSURANCE MATTERS
When we're working on your home or commercial property, our insurance
protects both of us:
FOR YOU (Homeowner or Business Owner):
✓ Property damage is covered by us, not your homeowner's insurance
✓ Worker injuries are covered by us, not your homeowner's insurance
✓ You have legal recourse if something goes wrong — our insurance backs our
work guarantee
✓ Your lender or HOA can verify we're bonded and insured before work begins
✓ Your property insurer gets peace of mind that a professional contractor is
on site
FOR YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY:
✓ Before approving a roofing permit or solar installation, many insurers
require proof of contractor insurance
✓ Our coverage limits ($1-2M) are industry-standard and meet most
underwriter requirements
✓ Our 75-year family contractor heritage demonstrates financial stability
and established business practices
FOR YOUR LENDER OR HOA:
✓ If you're financing solar or a roof, your lender may require proof of
contractor insurance before disbursement
✓ Our credentials are clear, verifiable, and complete
✓ We can be added as "additional insured" on our general liability policy
for your lender's protection
Frequently Asked Questions
-
We carry active, verified insurance through State Compensation Insurance Fund (workers' comp), State Fund (general liability), Kemper/Infinity (auto), and Nautilus (additional coverage). You can download our Certificate of
Liability Insurance above and forward it to your lender, insurer, or HOA for direct verification. All policies are current through July 2027. -
General liability covers accidental damage to your property (roof damage, broken windows, etc.). Workers' compensation covers medical care and lost wages
if a crew member is injured on your property. Both are required by California law. -
Our general liability insurance ($1M per occurrence) covers accidental
property damage. You file a claim with our insurer, not your homeowner's
insurance. This is one of the main reasons to hire a licensed, insured
contractor. -
Our workers' compensation insurance covers 100% of medical care, rehabilitation, and lost wages. The injured worker is covered — your homeowner's insurance is not involved. This is mandatory in California.
-
Not required, but some homeowners do request we be added as "additional insured" on our general liability policy for their lender's protection. We can facilitate this — just ask.
-
Yes. Our Certificate of Liability Insurance is issued by a major insurance carrier (State Compensation Insurance Fund) and meets standard underwriting
requirements for solar installations, roofing, and construction loans. Download the certificate above and send it directly to your lender's underwriter. -
You can contact our insurance broker directly with your certificate number (1164015818) and they'll confirm all policies are active and current. Most insurers and lenders prefer this approach for due diligence.
-
Yes. Our general liability limit is $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate — well above industry-standard minimums. Most lenders require $1M minimum; we have that covered. For projects exceeding $1M, we can obtain additional coverage or an umbrella policy upon request.
-
Our insurance remains in force even if the company dissolves. Any claims related to work performed are still covered by our current policies through July 2027. Additionally, California's Contractors' License Board can pursue claims against our bond for unfinished work.
-
Contractors who don't publish specific insurance information, carrier names, and coverage limits often either (a) have minimal coverage, (b) want to hide
exclusions, or (c) have had claims denied in the past. We publish our full details because we stand behind our coverage and have nothing to hide.
